The student-led initiative continues to strengthen safe spaces, mentorship and community-based protection in Bwiriza and Bukere.
Rising Together expanded from Kampala's informal settlements to Kyaka II Refugee Settlement in 2025. Working with refugee leadership, volunteers, caregivers and community structures, the initiative has supported mentorship, recreation, psychosocial wellbeing and referral pathways for children and young people. The project remains community-led and continues to seek sustainable support for its safe spaces and volunteer network.
